(the “FAQs”) for the 2020 Monopoly® “Coast to Coast” Game At McDonald’s
General Information About The Game
All capitalized terms within these FAQs are defined in the Official Rules of the Game.
1. Who can play the Game at McDonald’s?
Eligibility is subject to the provisions of the Official Rules including, without limitation, the restrictions set out below:
The Game is open only to residents of Canada, and there is no age limit to play the Game.
The employees of Prize Partners and Reward Partners may participate in the Game but are not eligible to receive and may not claim any Prize or Reward supplied or provided by the Prize Partner or Reward Partner or by an affiliated or parent company of the Prize Partner or Reward Partner for which they work.
Persons in any of the following categories are not eligible to participate in, or to win a Prize in, the Game:
- (a) any person who, on or after May 1, 2020, was or is a director, officer, employee, member, manager, agent or franchisee of any one or more of the following: any of the Game Entities, or any one or more of their respective divisions, parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies, representatives, service agencies or independent contractors;
- (b) any individual engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for the Game;
- (c) any person who, on or after May 1, 2020, was or is a director, officer, employee, member, manager, agent or franchisee/dealer of one or more of the Prize Partners or Monopoly Reward Partners, or of any Prize Partner’s or Monopoly Reward Partner’s divisions, parent company, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, dealers and dealerships, franchisees, representatives, service agencies or independent contractors; however, the employees of such Prize Partners and/or Reward Partners may participate in the Game but are not eligible to receive and may not claim any Prize or Reward supplied or provided by the Prize Partner or Reward Partner or by an affiliated or parent company of the Prize Partner or Reward Partner for which they work; and
- (d) any person who is or purports to be an immediate family member (defined as spouse, dependent for federal income tax purposes, half-sister, half-brother, or step-, biological, foster, in-law or adoptive mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son) of, or who resides or is domiciled in the same household as, any person in any of the preceding categories.
2. Are there other promotions offered by McDonald’s during the Game Period?
There are other separate promotions that may be offered by the Sponsor at approximately the same time as the Game, including:

Each promotion has its own method(s) of entry. A person can participate, if eligible, in the Game and can also participate, if eligible, in the Appstakes and/or McDonald’s Money Mondays Twitter Promotion.
3. What are the dates for the Game?
It is planned that Game Pieces will be available in participating McDonald’s restaurants in Canada on specially-marked packages beginning on or about October 6, 2020, and ending on or about November 9, 2020. However, Game Pieces that remain in participating McDonald’s restaurants in Canada on November 10, 2020, will be distributed to the public until they are gone (but in no event later than the Prize redemption deadline of November 30, 2020), at which point the Game will end.
How To Play The Game
4. How can I find a copy of the Official Rules?
The Official Rules will be available at participating McDonald’s restaurants in Canada until December 31, 2020, and online at the Property Tracker Website until November 30, 2020.

5. What is a Game Piece and what is a Game Stamp?
During the Game, while supplies last, certain menu items come in specially-marked packaging that includes a Game Piece affixed to the packaging.
OneGame Piece is affixed to the specially-marked food and beverage packages (refer to FAQ #6 for a list of those packages), while supplies last. Two Game Stamps are found on each Game Piece. Two Game Pieces are affixed to specially-marked 20-piece Chicken McNuggets®, while supplies last.
An eligible person can also receive a Game Piece without purchasing food by following the directions in FAQ #7 below, and in Rule 3.C.(ii) of the Official Rules.
6. Where do I get a Game Piece to play the Game?
One Monopoly® Game Piece (with two Game Stamps) can be found on the following specially-marked food and beverage Monopoly® Game packages (while supplies last):
- medium and large hot McCafé® beverages (Premium Roast Brewed Coffee, Tea, Mocha, Latte, Cappuccino, Americano and Deluxe Hot Chocolate)

7. Can I play the Game without purchasing a food item?
A Participant has an alternative means of entry into the Game (an “AMOE”). That Participant can request a Game Piece, without buying a food item, by mailing a request as follows:
The Request must be mailed in a postage-paid outer envelope.
The Participant’s complete return mailing address must be included on the outer envelope.
Within the outer envelope there must be oneself-addressed envelope that uses the Participant’s complete mailing address.
The self-addressed envelope must bear sufficient return postage.

The outer envelopes containing requests must be postmarked no sooner than September 21, 2020, and no later than November 9, 2020, and must be actually received at the above address no later than November 16, 2020.

8. How do I play the Game?
To play the Game, first obtain a Game Piece which contains twoGame Stamps. Then carefully peel each Game Stamp from its backing on the Game Piece, or from the specially-marked package to which the Game Piece is affixed, to determine if a Game Stamp is an “Instant Win” Game Stamp, which potentially may win a Prize, or is a “Collect and Win” Game Stamp which is part of a potential Winning Combination in the Game. Rule 7 of the Official Rules outlines how to claim a Food Prize, an “Instant Win” Prize and a “Collect and Win” Prize and provides details and deadlines in the Game.
9. Where do I get an Official Game Board?
A Participant can obtain an official Game Board for the Game in one or more of the following ways (a Game Board is not required to play the Game):
At any participating McDonald’s restaurant in Canada (while supplies last).
In one or more sub-markets in Canada, via direct mail, or newspaper insert, or otherwise until the Game ends.
Online at the Property Tracker Website. Note that if a Participant goes to the Property Tracker Website to obtain a Game Board, he/she must print out the Game Board from the applicable website at his/her sole cost.
How To Claim A Prize
10. Who can claim a Prize in the Game?
There is no age limit for claiming a Food Prize in the Game. In order to claim a Non-Food Prize (either “Instant Win” Non-Food Prize or “Collect and Win” Prize) in the Game, a Participant must be of the age of majority in his/her province/territory of residence as of the date the Prize is being claimed, or must be the parent/legal guardian of a Minor who is a potential Prize winner.
The Age of Majority for the following provinces is eighteenyears old: Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
The Age of Majority for the following provinces/territories is nineteenyears old: British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut and Yukon Territory.
11. How do I claim a Food Prize?
Potential winning “Instant Win” Game Stamps for McDonald’s food items that are Food Prizes in the Game may be claimed at the counter, at a kiosk or at the Drive Thru at any participating McDonald’s restaurant in Canada by 11:59:59 p.m. Local Time on November 30, 2020.
Before placing a food order, a Participant must inform a McDonald’s restaurant counter person or, if applicable, a Drive Thru McDonald’s person that the Participant wishes to claim a Food Prize. Then, the Participant should present his/her potential winning original Food Prize Game Stamp to that McDonald’s person.
Note: A Food Prize may be claimed only during the hours that food item is served and only on a visit subsequent to the visit during which the Participant obtained the applicable Game Stamp for that Food Prize. No “Instant Win” Game Stamp for a Food Prize is valid in combination with any other offer or discount. Only oneFood Prize redemption is permitted per Participant per visit to a participating McDonald’s restaurant. All visits to the same restaurant within a two-hour period are deemed to constitute a single visit.
Refer to Rule 7.A. of the Official Rules for further details concerning Food Prize redemption.
12. What is a “Sandwich” Prize?
A sandwich Food Prize may be claimed for any oneof the following and for no other sandwich or food item:

13. How do I claim a $10 or $50 McDonald’s Card Prize?
To claim this Prize, a Participant with an “Instant Win” Game Stamp that indicates a $10 or $50 McDonald’s Card Prize first must visit a participating McDonald’s restaurant in Canada and ask to see the McDonald’s restaurant manager to obtain an empty McDonald’s Card. Participant should show his/her potential winning Game Stamp to the restaurant manager, but do not give the Game Stamp to the manager or any other restaurant employee, the Participant will need to keep it. That empty McDonald’s Card will not be activated, but will come with instructions informing the Participant how to proceed to claim the McDonald’s Card Prize.
The deadline for completing the online portion of a claim for this Prize is 11:59:59 p.m. Local Time on November 30, 2020.
14. How do I claim a Non-Food Prize?
A claim for a Non-Food Prize must be completed at the Online Redemption Site by 11:59:59 p.m. Local Time on November 30, 2020. Go to Rule 6 of the Official Rules for complete details regarding the prize claim process. All potential winners are legally required to correctly answer a mathematical Skill-Testing Question.
15. What is the deadline to claim Non-Food or Food Prizes?
The deadline for claiming all Prizes is no later than November 30, 2020.
16. I have collected all of the “Collect and Win” Game Stamps required to complete a property set (a Monopoly® street property, airport, highway or RMHC® location) for a Winning Combination in the Property Tracker! What should I do now?
If a Participant has collected all of the “Collect and Win” Game Stamps required to complete a property set (a Monopoly® street property, location, airport, highway or RMHC location) for a Winning Combination, refer to Rule 7 of the Official Rules for complete details about how to begin to redeem the applicable Prize.
The deadline for claiming all Prizes is no later than November 30, 2020.
17. Why do I have to answer a Skill-Testing Question?
Answering a Skill-Testing Question is a legal requirement in Canada for contests such as Monopoly® “Coast to Coast” Game at McDonald’s. A potential winner must correctly answer a mathematical Skill-Testing Question, without assistance of any kind, whether electronic, mechanical or other, before he/she can be declared the winner of any Prize in the Game.
18. I won a $20 Skullcandy® eGift Code, will I have to pay for shipping? Can I stack multiple $20 Skullcandy® eGift Codes to use for the same purchase?
Once the online redemption process is complete (including correctly answering a Skill-Testing Question), an email with instructions to redeem the Skullcandy® $20 eGift Code will be sent to the email address the participant used during the Prize Claim Process. The deadline for claiming a Skullcandy® prize is 11:59:59 p.m. Local Time on November 30, 2020.
The $20 Skullcandy® eGift Code does not include shipping & handling costs which will be $4.99 for purchases under $100 and free for orders of $100 or more. The eGift Code is not redeemable towards taxes.
$20 Skullcandy® eGift Codes are not stackable. There is a limit of oneSkullcandy® $20 eGift Code per purchase. A Skullcandy® $20 eGift Code and a Skullcandy® 40% discount reward, or any other discount, cannot be combined.
The winner is responsible for any purchase and/or cost that exceeds Twenty Dollars ($20) and the eGift Code is not valid for previous purchases. Refer to Official Rules 5.B.(vi).
19. How do I get an eGift Code prize?
Once the online redemption process is complete (including correctly answering a Skill-Testing Question), an email with instructions to redeem the eGift code will be sent to the email address the Participant used during the Prize Claim process. The deadline for claiming a Prize is 11:59:59 p.m. Local Time on November 30, 2020.
How To Earn Rewards
20. Is there a Property Tracker for the 2020 Game like last year?
There is a Property Tracker as in years past. The Game provides an online property tracker for convenience for a Participant to potentially earn Monopoly Rewards (described below) using the Property Tracker. In order to use the Property Tracker, a Participant must be thirteen www.mcdpromotion.ca (“Property Tracker Website”) to potentially earn Monopoly Rewards and keep track of the “Collect and Win” properties that he/she collects in the Game. Each time a Participant successfully enters seven unique Codes from any Game Stamps (“Collect and Win”, “Instant Win” or “Instant Win” Food Prizes) in the Property Tracker, a message will appear that the Participant has earned a reward (each a “Monopoly Reward” or “Reward” and collectively “Monopoly Rewards” or “Rewards”). There is a maximum of eight Monopoly Reward levels available for a Participant to achieve. All valid Codes must be entered into the Property Tracker by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2020, in order to count towards a Monopoly Reward.years of age or older. During the Game Period, and until 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 30, 2020, a Participant can access the Property Tracker via his/her McDonald’s app or use the Property Tracker at the Property Tracker website
Note: Even though a Participant uses the Property Tracker to keep a record/log of the Participant’s collected properties/airports/highways, the Participant Must Retain All Of The Participant’s Original Game Stamps because the Participant may be required to produce one or more original Game Stamps in order to make a valid claim for a Prize in the Game. Entry of a Code in the Property Tracker will not be accepted as a substitute, or proxy, for an original Game Stamp.
21. How do I sign up for the Property Tracker?
A Participant who is thirteen Monopoly® Property Tracker or other McDonald’s promotion will not be available for your use and you will be required to create a new My Account. To begin, the Participant must select “Sign Up” from the navigation bar to be taken to “Registration”. A first-time Participant can then complete the registration for a My Account by providing his/her first name only and a valid email address, then confirm that email address and create a password in accordance with the password requirements (found in “Password Requirements”) and then enter the first three digits/characters of the Participant’s postal code. Refer to Rule 3.B.(iii).years of age or older must use the McDonald’s app or go to the Property Tracker Website and create a “My Account”. Please note that your registration from a previous
22. What are the technical requirements for the Property Tracker?
To use the Property Tracker, you will need:
iOS: 13.4 (Running Safari 13 Mobile Browser);
Android: 9 (Running Google Chrome™ 84 and Samsung 10.2.01.10 Browser)
macOS 10.15: Google Chrome™ 84 and Safari 13;
Windows 10: Google Chrome™ 84, Firefox 77 and Edge 83
Digital Device Requirements:
Devices must be capable of displaying HTML and XHTML content in order to access the Property Tracker. If a Participant’s mobile device does not meet these requirements, or they are having a technical issue viewing the site, then they will need to use their desktop computer to participate.
Screen Resolution Requirements:
Using a screen resolution lower than 375px wide may result in a Participant not being able to access or use the Property Tracker Website.
Non-Supported Browsers and Operating Systems:
Non-supported browsers and devices may be served a page stating the Participant’s browser or device is not supported with links to external pages (not associated with the Property Tracker Website or Sponsor) to update the Participant’s browser or direct the Participant to access on a supported desktop/laptop computer to participate. Using a browser or device not supported may prevent access to the Property Tracker Website.
While all efforts are made to support current browsers, operating systems and devices, new operating systems, browsers and devices may not be supported if brought to market after the development of the Property Tracker Website. Sponsor is not responsible for any browser, operating system or device supporting issues.
23. How do I change my password when using the Property Tracker?
To change a password for the Property Tracker, Participant must first select the “Forgot Password” link on the “Log In” page located under the “Password” field, then enter the email address the Participant used to register with, and select the red “Reset Password” button. An email with directions to reset the password will be sent to the Participant’s registered email address. Reset password emails should take approximately fiveto fifteen minutes to send. If the Participant has not received his/her email in this time frame, the Participant should check his/her spam folder.
Select the “Reset Password” link in the email. After selecting the “Reset Password” button, the Participant will be prompted to reset his/her password. Please note that passwords are case sensitive and must be:
between 8 and 12 characters
contain at least oneuppercase letter (A-Z)
onelowercase letter (a-z)
onenumeric digit (0-9)
Special characters such as: ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & *_-+ = are allowed but not required
Spaces are not allowed
We encourage Participants to create a “unique” password that is different from their other passwords, that has not already been used and that does not contain names or common words.
Once a Participant has created and confirmed his/her new password, select the “Reset Password” link. A reset password confirmation page will be served and from there a Participant can select the “Home” button to return to the Home Page where he/she will automatically be signed in and can continue entering Codes.
24. When can I track Codes using the Property Tracker?
The Property Tracker is available beginning at 12:00:00 a.m. ET on October 6, 2020, through 11:59:59 p.m. ET November 30, 2020.
25. Where can I find Codes to enter into the Property Tracker?
Game Stamps have a 12-digit Code printed on them. Those Codes can be entered into the Property Tracker to track properties.
12-digit Codes are also printed on Food and Non-Food “Instant Win” Game Stamps and may also be entered into the Property Tracker but only for the purpose of earning Rewards.
26. Should I throw away my Game Stamps once I track them online in the Property Tracker?
No. A Participant must save his/her original Game Stamps!
27. Is there a daily limit of how many Property Codes I can track per day?
No, there is not a daily limit. A Participant can enter as many Codes as they have but there are no additional Monopoly Rewards available to any Participant who enters more than fifty-sixCodes into his/her My Account.
28. What conditions apply to all of the Reward Codes?
Each Reward Code expires at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on December 31, 2020.
Each Reward Code can only be used once.
Reward Codes cannot be combined with any other deal, promotion, discount or offer.
Reward Codes cannot be transferred or sold and are not valid on previously purchased items.
Reward Codes cannot be used toward the purchase of gift cards, e-gift cards or alternate products (where specific products or selections are specified) and are not valid for payment on any previous purchase(s).
Limit one Reward Code per order. Limit oneReward Code for each Reward level per My Account.
29. Can a Participant earn Rewards by entering Codes in the Property Tracker?
Yes! When a Participant successfully enters seven, fourteen , twenty-one , twenty-eight , thirty-five , forty-two , forty-nine and fifty-six Codes from any Game Stamps in the Property Tracker, a message will appear that the Participant has earned a Reward. The Participant will then receive an email with a unique Reward code (a “Reward Code”). The email sent with the Reward Code will also include the website to which a Participant must go to claim his/her Reward along with instructions to complete the claim. If the email is not received within forty-eight hours, please check your spam and/or junk folders.
